Baum gives the lecture “Tradition in Progress” at Nanjing School of architecture, one of the most important architecture schools in China. Javier Caro and Miguel Gentil went through ten years of practice, analysing Baum’s production from the point of view of the interaction between contemporariness and tradition.

Li Xiangning, one of the greatest Chinese critics and theorist in architecture interviews Baum for UA Magazine, giving an end to the series of interviews we did to Spanish architects. The so far interviewers  get now interviewed. Dr. Xiangning Li is deputy dean and full professor in history, theory and criticism at Tongji University College of Architecture and Urban Planning.

Baum is invited to give a lecture for the Family Business Association of Andalusia, as a good practice example of innovation and international aims. Some of the most influential companies in Spain and Andalusia belong to the Family Business Network and some of their representatives were among the audience. It was a great pleasure for us to talk before such an enthusiastic public.

On behalf of Baum Lab, Miguel Gentil, will give a master lecture in the School of Architecture of Universidad Nacional in Asunción, Paraguay, with the title: “Arquitectura interescalar” (interscale architecture). 25.02.2016. Together with Tongji Design and Research Institute we have been twice shortlisted and finally awarded with a second prize in the invited competition for the Shanghai Agriculture Research Center. A big team leaded on the Chinese side by Zen Qun and Zou Zejian and by Baum partners on the European section, produced a detailed proposal that was finally very well received.

Resilient Design_Lecture

For the second year in a row, on response to the kind invitation of Mr. Jose Manuel Almodóvar, we contribute to the course on Chinese Architecture that he teaches at the School of Architecture of Seville. On this occasion we presented the lecture: “Resilient Design: Responsive Urban Projects in the New China”,  in which we deliberated on the necessity of self-adjusting projects, able to respond to the ever changing conditions of Chinese nowadays circumstances.  Thank you to all the devoted assistants and, once again, to José Manuel.
